TAPE FREE PROSTHETIC HAIR SYSTEMS

TAPE FREE PROSTHETIC HAIR SYSTEMS

Is it possible to use tape-free system in Prosthetic Hair? What is a tapeless system? What are the differences between the band system and the bandless system? Which one experts do prefer more? Is the tapeless system suitable for every infrastructure?

Thanks to its constantly developing, innovative and dynamic structure, the hair treatment sector continues to develop day by day, especially in line with the needs and demands of Prosthetic Hair users.

Depending on these developments and demands, the "Tapeless Prosthetic Hair" system has emerged as a new and frequently asked demand.

The Tape-Free System in Prosthetic Hair was a more common method when it was at the beginning of the sector. However, over time, like all other fields, the Prosthetic Hair sector has reached its current standards with the influence and contribution of scientific and technological developments in the world. In the current standards of Prosthetic Hair, although the applications applied with the help of various medical bands are more preferred, prosthetic hair applications with the help of medical solutions as well as bandless methods, which are called knitted/meshed system and beaded system, are also occasionally due to special reasons.

PROSTHETIC HAIR APPLICATION SYSTEMS

As we mentioned above, there are more than one method in Prosthetic hair applications. Some of these methods are either tape-free or partial taped methods.

Prosthetic Hair applications fixed with the help of medical tapes (It is the most preferred and applied method today.)

Applications of Fixed Prosthetic Hair that can be done with Liquid Adhesives

Prosthetic Hair Applications Applied by Knitted / Sewed or Beaded System Methods

Mixed Applications Used in Both Methods (Front Net Liquid- Back Part Banding)

Tape-Free Prosthetic Hair Systems

When it comes to Prosthetic Hair, it is the most preferred and most applied method that comes to mind in today's standards. The main reason for being preferred is that the bands used, periodic maintenance times can be determined according to the demands of the user. Because the tapes that are used in the application are specially produced according to the retention rates. (5-7 days, 7-14 days, or an average of 1 month) In this way, the user can have a more comfortable use with the most suitable band preference according to life norms.

Applications with Liquid Adhesives: Another fixative used in the application of Prosthetic Hair is actually a medical solution, liquid adhesives. Especially with the effect of technological and scientific developments, liquid adhesives have increased their holding power, thus being the most preferred method with tapes. However, liquid adhesives are often used more often in combination with tapes. In Prosthetic hair applications performed only with Liquid adhesives (usually Transparent and Milk White two types), the infrastructure of the preferred Prosthesis units is not at the desired level in air and water permeability since it is generally full PU (Poly Urethane). However, it can also be applied with liquid adhesives optionally in full mesh infrastructures. In this case, particular attention should be paid to the periodic maintenance of Prosthetic Hair, the period of care should not exceed 7-14 days depending on the structure of the skin.

Applications that can be done with Braided / Beaded Method:

It is the oldest method used among Prosthetic Hair applications. In this method, which is preferred more frequently in the early days when tape and liquid adhesives are not yet in sufficient standards, it is applied without cutting the underlying hair of the person, fixing their hair with a special braiding method and fixing them to the prosthetic hair unit. Application is done sometimes by sewing method and sometimes with the help of beads attached to the substructure. Today, Prosthesis is an application demanded by users who do not want to cut or scrape their hair (under any condition) remaining at the bottom of the unit. The expert's experience here will be the most critical point, it is extremely important.

Applications Using Both Methods:

As we frequently state in our article, technology is developing and the adhesiveness of liquid adhesives increases. For this reason, while most of the experts use liquid adhesive to the area where the front forehead line is used while making a taping system, it supports the back parts with a high-adhesive tape. No matter how good the liquid adhesives are, they are not as long lasting as the tapes. They are more susceptible to deformation. When Band + Liquid adhesive is used together, it offers maximum comfort and time to users.

What are the Main Differences Between Taped System and Tape-Free Systems?

The taped system also has more holding power. The tapeless / tape-free system has an average lifetime of 1 week (depending on the material used, this period can be shortened and longer). Due to the use of acrylic in the material of most bandless systems, it is waterproof but it does not harm the skin. Cleaning of tapeless systems can be more practical. (It varies depending on the experience of the person who will do it).
